It is an elegy for Astoria, an Astoria chronicle, gathering its people, places, trades, and traditions into a living remembrance. Torn between the life he imagines and the work that asks something real of him, Peter must decide what to carry forward and what to let go.

Within these pages, George Zouvelos, born in Manhattan and raised in Astoria, weaves memory, fate, family, meraki, philotimo, laughter, loss, and survival into a modern-day Homeric odyssey of the Greek diaspora, driven by Peter’s determination to keep moving forward toward his own nostos, a homecoming he never knew he deserved and never imagined was waiting for him.
